I have heard that with other grooming van manufacturers I would have to purchase the vehicle and make up to 4 months of vehicle payments while the unit is being converted. Will I have to make payments on the Wag'n Tails unit before my unit is ready for delivery?
No, you will not have to make any payments before your Wag’n Tails unit is ready for delivery. Wag’n Tails understands how important cash flow can be when starting a new business. Our lead time is typically only 4-6 weeks from the time of order. We always have an inventory of units on our lot ready for customization.
I am concerned about getting new customers to support my business. How does Wag’n Tails help?

New Wag’n Tails customers receive marketing materials and guidance that help hundreds of groomers build successful businesses. We can sometimes even send customers your way.

The Wag’n Tails Business and Marketing Guide contains marketing materials like press releases, newspaper ads, brochure examples, and much more. Our business section highlights things like pricing, selling the benefits of mobile grooming to pet owners, and scheduling. But we give you more than just the materials.

More important, we provide tactics and ideas that have helped hundreds of our customers successfully start their businesses. And you have access to a family that operated more than 20 units for more than 30 years. We provide one-on-one phone consulting before and after your purchase.

How much more does a Wag’n Tails mobile groomer charge to groom dogs? How many dogs a day can a mobile groomer do?

Depending upon what part of the country you work in, this convenient at-home grooming service charge averages between 25-50% more than a stationary grooming salon. For example, the cost of living is greater in Manhattan, NY than in Manhattan, KS. This is a small increase for the pet owner considering the convenience mobile groomers provide.

Here is an example for a typical Pet owner with a Cocker Spaniel:

Grooming Charge Per Hour = $50.00

Convenience Charge = $15.00

Total Cost for Pet Owner = $65.00

The average Wag’n Tails customer will groom 6-8 dogs per day.

Why do you build on large vans?

This is a lesson we learned through years of experience. Large vans are designed to carry the loads needed for mobile grooming units. They have better suspension than lighter vans, and are designed for heavy-duty work.

With the generator, conversion, and water (50 gallons at a weight of 8.8 lbs. per gallon), you need a van that will withstand years of use. One-ton vans are necessary for the durability and longevity of your mobile unit.
May I customize my van?

Certainly.

What about a different table? No problem. We can install any table you choose.

We have designed a unit we think is a pleasure to work in. However, no two groomers are alike, so changes to most features are available. An extra charge may apply.

What color vinyl accents are available?

We have 18 colors to choose from in marine vinyl.

Formica walls come in a wide assortment of colors, but for beneficial light reflection and a cleaner look we strongly recommend white Formica.

Do you have financing for your Wag’n Tails package?

Yes, we have several financing sources available. You can finance the van, standard Wag’n Tails conversion, and options.

It will probably be easier to finance through our sources since they and their regional credit offices are accustomed to mobile grooming units. Ford Credit and Chrysler Capital are the most used sources.

Many of our clients receive loans at their local banks and credit unions. Our clients get great interest rates and terms because they have established relationships with these financial institutions.

What kind of credit is needed to get financing for your vehicle and support?

Banks look at your credit score, debt-to-income ratio and credit history.

Congress recently passed a law to allow consumers to check their credit report annually at no charge. The website is located at www.annualcreditreport.com, or you may call at (877) 322-8228.

It is a good idea to check your credit report every 12 months to make sure creditors are reporting accurate information, and to look for identity theft issues.

There is a small fee to determine your actual credit score with the three credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and Transunion.

Most of our applicants qualify for financing, even as start-up businesses. There is no cost or obligation to buy when you apply for credit. Applying simply lets you know where you stand. It also helps us determine monthly payments.

What will my payments be?
That depends on three factors: the interest rate, down payment, and length of the loan. The only real way to determine your payment is with a pre-approval.
Where is my van built? Is that where I would pick it up? Do you deliver?

Wag’n Tails Mobile Pet Grooming builds your van in Granger, IN, about 20 minutes east of South Bend, IN.

The nearest airport is Michiana Regional Airport in South Bend. Most of our customers fly into South Bend or nearby Chicago, IL (Midway or O’Hare airports – two to three hours west). We offer pick-up service at South Bend’s Michiana Regional Airport, Monday through Friday during business hours.

Picking up your unit, here, in Granger, gives you time to complete the orientation on maintenance, mobile grooming techniques, and equipment operation. However, we also offer resouces for transport to your door within the US.
