Summer Maintenance Checklist

There’s no doubt about it: summer is here. Running a mobile business always comes with its fair share of maintenance to ensure your vehicle is running smoothly and you’re able to access your AC unit to its full potential. If you drive a Wag’n Tails van, we hope this checklist will come in handy during these long and bright summer days. 😎

Air Conditioner

Air conditioner coils should be cleaned before summer operations start. For more information on having the coils cleaned, please see the following video on our YouTube channel.

Roof seals around vent fans and the air conditioner should be inspected if they have not been done in the past 12 months. It is best to have this completed by a technician when the air conditioner coils are cleaned.

Vent Fan Screens

Vent fan screens should be inspected and replaced if needed. These are available for purchase on our online store.

Anode Rods

Water heater anode rods should be inspected and replaced if needed. Replacement anode rods are available for purchase on our online store.

CleanPower System™ Units

If your van has a CleanPower System™, check the batteries in the vent fan remote. This remote is found in the rear utility area attached to the wall. The battery level can be viewed on the remote screen. Default Wag’n Tails settings are AUTO mode active and temperature set to 70°F to activate. This will help ensure the inverter area is vented.

It’s important for mobile groomers to keep their air conditioners clean and in good shape during the summer months. Taking care of your AC, and its associated equipment (vents, temperature gauges, anode rods, etc.) will enable your CleanPower System™ to function at full capacity, allowing for cool air all day inside your mobile salon.
